Pond's Think Pink Session Speaks About Breast Cancer


October is dedicated to spread "Breast Cancer Awareness" all over the world. The annual awareness campaign is focused to highlight the importance of early detection, treatment and prevention of this ailment.

In Pakistan, breast cancer is the fastest growing form of cancer among women, with around 90,000 new cases and nearly 40,000 deaths annually. According to local statistics, every 9th woman is at risk of breast cancer in Pakistan. The fatal consequences of the disease can be reduced if a healthy lifestyle is maintained and it can be totally prevented with proper awareness, support and education among the masses.

This year, the beauty brand Pond’s started a breast cancer awareness campaign in Pakistan with the help of its health experts. In this regard, Pond’s Pakistan recently hosted an informative breast cancer awareness session "Think Pink" to spread the knowledge for a better and healthier future.

The event was held at Avari Towers with Pink color inspired creative theme. Clad in pink, women supported the session and gained a lot of information about the illness and cultural taboos attached to it.

Pond’s Think Pink session was conducted by Doctor Kashifa Ehsan from Shaukat Khanum Cancer hospital and Doctor Yasmine. Both doctors stressed the significance of self-examination, early detection and provided their expertise regarding signs and symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, misconceptions and psychological disorders of the deadly disease.

The session highlighted following important points to keep in mind concerning breast cancer.

Always remember that Breast Cancer is not a genetic illness.

For prevention, make sure you do regular self-examination to detect any abnormalities. In case of any suspicion, get yourself checked by a doctor.

Pakistan’s young women in their 20s and 30s should have a medical breast exam after three years.

Do regular exercise to reduce the chances of breast cancer.

Maintain a healthy lifestyle with balanced diet to avoid such illness.

Regular intake of vegetables and fruits reduces the risk of cancer.

Keep in mind that not all lumps are cancerous, hence it is best to seek medical help if there is any lump in breast.

Never be embarrassed to talk about breast abnormalities or consulting a doctor.

Last but not least, always remember that prevention is better than cure. So, make a promise to yourself to take care of yourself.

Recipe - Vegetable Filled Sandwich


Yesterday, I made vegetable sandwiches for my friend, who was visiting me after a long gap of three months. I was really excited to meet her. So, I also decided to try a new recipe of sandwiches to go with tea.

There are lots of varieties of vegetable sandwiches. I selected Potatoes as the main ingredient and added Peas and Carrots in it. The result was very good and my friend loved the taste and the look of the sandwiches. That’s why I am sharing this recipe with all of you. Hope you people will also like it.

Let’s start the recipe:


Potatoes 3
Carrots ½ cup
Peas ½ cup
Green Chillies 2 tbsp
Black pepper
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Red chilli Crushed 1 tsp
Bread Slices 8

Green Chutney

Coriander Leaves 1 cup
Mint leaves 1 cup
Green Chillies 4
Garlic 2 cloves
Salt ½ tsp
Water 4-6 tbsp


Blend all the green chutney ingredients in a fine paste. If needed add some more water in it and keep it aside.

Boil potatoes. Peel and mash potatoes well.

Boil peas with chopped carrot for few minutes.

In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, peas and carrot.

Add finely chopped green chillies.

Add black pepper and salt as per your taste.

Add crushed red chilli and lemon juice in above mixture and mix it well.

Take bread slices and spread butter very lightly on both sides of the slice.

Spread blended green chutney on the slice.

Spread mashed potato mixture on the green chutney layer.

Potato mixture layer should not be very thick.

Cover it with another buttered slice.

Complete all the slices in the same manner.

Now, you can grill them in oven for 3-5 minutes or toast it in a grilling pan.

I made them in a sandwich maker because I love the shape and marks that a sandwich maker leaves on slices.

Serve them with ketchup.



Lifebuoy Hosted Biggest CSR Campaign In Pakistan


Lifebuoy hosted an event that raised the bar for all CSR campaigns in Pakistan that witnessed over twenty thousand registrations at PAF Museum. Fahad Mustafa along with many other celebrities pledged to wash our hands. Present at the pledge were Adnan Siddiqui, Anoushey Ashraf, Saira Kabeer and Yasir Hussain. 

Celebrities all over the country were excited to be apart of  High 5 Save 5 and called our to their fans to be a part of this campaign, amongst there were, Ali Zafar, Waseem Akhram, Sajal Aly, Feroze Khan, Syra Yusuf, Shahroze Sabzwari, Shahzad Shiekh, Aashir Wajahat, Sonya Hussain, Ahsan Khan, Zhalay Sarhadi, Hareem Farooq and many others. 

A recent study shows that 1.7 million children are unable to reach their fifth birthday due to easily preventable diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia. Most of these lives can be saved through simple practices like hand washing with soap - one of the most effective and low cost prevention for illnesses like diarrhea and pneumonia.

The day which is now is now celebrated in over 100 countries across the world has served as a powerful platform to extend the message of health and hygiene to billions. The Music Launch Of Film Lahore Se Aagey


ARY Films and Showcase Films hosted an exclusive media event for their joint production "Lahore Se Aagey", starring Saba Qamar and Yasir Hussain, in Karachi, officially kicking off the promotions of the film.

Lahore Se Aagey is an upcoming Pakistani romantic-comedy film directed and produced by Wajahat Rauf. It is the sequel to the 2015 comedy film Karachi Se Lahore and is scheduled to release on 11th November 2016. 

Lahore Se Aagey music album includes five tracks, out of which four have been composed by Shiraz Uppal – while Tere Bina, sung by Aashir Wajahat, is composed by Syed Adeel. The main vocals of the album are by Aima Baig, who has sung, Kalabaz (with Jabar Abbas), Be Fiqriyan and Ehl-e-Dil. Zara Si Laga Lo vocals are by Shiraz Uppal himself.

It was Saba Qamar who stole the show. The TV drama actress was looking beautiful in Natasha Kamal dress. She talked about her experiences of acting in a film. She also admired her director's efforts in dealing with the difficulties during the film shoot. 

Yasir Hussain, who was wearing a traditional dress by designer Amir Adnan, shared his experience and character details with media.

The film penned by Yasir Hussain, and also includes Agha Farhatullah, Mubashir Malik, Rubina Ashraf and Behroze Sabzwari in pivotal roles. 

“The entire team has put their heart and soul in putting together the music album of Lahore Se Aagey and now just hope these songs are imprinted in the hearts of listeners, since music is a very important part of the film and how the story progresses.” Wajahat Rauf, the producer and director of Lahore Se Aagey, commented.

Review - Red & Black English Boot House Slide-In Slipper


From last couple of weeks, I was trying to write a review about a Slide-In Slipper. But hectic routine stopped me from doing so. Today I will share this long pending review.

The Brand Claims:

English Boot House - EBH has a history of 62 years of shoe-making. The brand EBH offers a huge variety of footwear, leather goods and accessories for both women and men. 


My new Red & Black Slide-In Slipper is made of leather with black leather sole. It has antique metallic bronze metal embellishment. I like it very much due to its light weight and good grip. 

It has one inch heel which makes it a good choice for wearing it from casual to semi formal dresses. 

It's sole is very soft and it is very easy in walk. This slide-in slipper has matt look and I am loving it mostly due to this dull appearance. 

The colour combination of Red and Black is something like neutral combination that can go with any outfit easily without breaking any colour matching.


I would give this slipper 4.5 out of 5



Recipe: Traditional Shahi Haleem


Haleem is a traditional dish made up of lentils, pulses and meat.  A certain amount of various spices is important to enhance the flavour and aroma of haleem. This dish can be made with beef, mutton or chicken, but, if you are looking for the authentic taste than beef is best.

Haleem usually takes around 5-6 hours to cook and needs a lot expertise to make the right ratio of spices and lentils etc. To avoid any inaccurate ratio, the best way is to go for a brand’s spice and lentil packet, easily available in market and stores.

Today we will share haleem recipe made with Shan Shahi Haleem Mix. The ratio of spices and lentils is very balanced in this packet. All you need is to buy meat portion and your dish will be prepared easily. 

Let’s start our recipe


Meat boneless 400g
Bones 500g
Oil 1-2 cups
Onion 1
Shan Shahi Haleem Mix with two sachets of spices and pulses, grains.

Steps of Cooking

Heat half cup oil, add meat and Shan Shahi Haleem Mix. Stir fry for few minutes Add pulses and grain. Add 12 cups of water.

Cover and cook on low heat for about 4-6 hours until meat is tender.

Remove bones and discard. Blend mixture into a thick paste with wooden spoon or slightly grind it in a blender.

Again add water 2 cups and cook for 20 minutes.

Heat remaining oil and fry the sliced onion until golden. Pour into Haleem. Cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.

Garnish with fried onions, finely chopped ginger, green chillies, green coriander and lemon juice.

Jennifer Aniston 'Makes A New Friend' On Emirates


Hollywood actress, director and producer Jennifer Aniston makes a return to the Emirates A380, and makes a new friend, in a new TV advertising campaign for the world’s best airline.

The ad builds on the success of the first Emirates-Jennifer Aniston ad launched last year, a much talked-about campaign which quickly went viral.


In a similar vein to the first light-hearted TVC, the Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning actress brings her distinctive personality, classic style, and a touch of humour, to showcase the A380. In the ad, Jennifer befriends Cooper, a young boy who she finds playing in her Private Suite in the Emirates First Class cabin, while she was freshening up in the Shower Spa. The two strike up a conversation and build rapport, as they stroll through Emirates’ Business Class cabin and Onboard Lounge.

Sitting on the stairs between the lower and upper decks of the aircraft, Cooper tells Jennifer about his aspirations to become a pilot – of ‘this plane’, pointing to his model Emirates A380 aircraft. In Economy Class, Cooper is finally reunited with his surprised parents where Jennifer chooses to remain and enjoy Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system with Cooper. The ad ends with Cooper’s mother relaxing in Jennifer’s Private Suite, having exchanged places with the Hollywood star.
