Aimed to present western aesthetics for local audience, the
Sana Safinaz’s latest collection is a balanced blending between East and West. The
collection ‘Message from the East’ have been crafted to show the exquisiteness when
west meets the east’s traditional motifs and artistic creativity.
Famous for their artistic fusion work, Pakistan’s fashion
designer duo Sana Safinaz showed a range of modern-day cuts, colors and styling.
However, the array of designs didn’t succeed in presenting something for
everyone. Some Victorian style cuts are not very practical and can’t be adopted
in 21st century, yet we can still say that the idea and creativity
behind the collection startlingly displayed in the essence of ‘Message from the
East’.
The wonderful amalgamation of materials from light net to dense
fabrics, bright to dark shades and unique cuts proves the designer duo has a
amazing chemistry to present out of box concept. One thing is very confusing,
the season has been changed, from winter to summer, but Sana Safinaz added
velvet and suede in their collection. Pakistan’s fashion enthusiasts can’t wear
such heavy material in the upcoming hot and humid season, May be the designer
duo focused their international clients for these heavy fabric designs.
Some of designs gives the bohemian vibes. The designs
included flared trousers paired with long shirts. The rich shades integrated
with light to heavy embroidery, silk thread work along with pearls, tassels,
rhinestones and traditional fringe style kiran.
For the wedding season and brides-to-be, Sana Safinaz
displayed lehengas, cholis and gowns made with satin, tissue, organza and mainly
in greyish or silver tones with experimental embellishments on dupattas.
Not many events happening in my city are women oriented. So,
whenever there is an opportunity to attend an event particularly organized for
women and their families, I always mark my calendar to attend it.
Recently, I was lucky enough to be invited to an event that
focused on beauty, fashion, makeup, tips. It was organized in the spacious
Global Marquees by Cool and Cool. The three-day-long, starting from 24th
to 26th April, Beauty & You event got tremendous appreciation
from women. It was Pakistan’s first ever beauty event covering women’s interest
areas.
Through Beauty & You expo platform, Cool and Cool gave
an opportunity to several brands such as Shower Scents, Jennifer’s, Make-Up
City and Hemani to display their products at the event. The jewelry stalls caught special attention of ladies.
There were three makeup masterclasses by well-known artist including Masarrat
Misbah, Nadia Hussain and Angie Marshall. These makeup classes were free of
cost and covered the new tips and tricks of latest make-up trends. The bridal
makeup were the highlights of the event. A large number of women attended these
classes on all three days.
The event also set-up a huge food-court with delicious
pizza, burger, chaat, rolls, juices, cold drinks stalls. The food brands
included Subway, Dunkin’ Donuts, Chatkhaar and Naurus serving up tasty
sandwiches and slushies. There was also a play area for children.
In case, you have missed this opportunity of attending the Beauty
and You expo, I would say DO Not WORRY!
Yes, don’t be sad, because the winter edition is on the way;
happening on the 7th, 8th and 9th of December 2018.
Pakistan’s famous fashion designers showcased their new
collections at the Fashion Pakistan Week Spring / Summer 2017. The
most imperative highlight of spring summer 2017 event is that Pakistan Fashion Council
has successfully completed a decade of style and fashion. So, this season, the PFC decided to do the event more like an anniversary celebration of FPW. From HSY’s tranquil yet eccentric
collection to Nomi Ansari traditional attires and from Tena Durrani’s dramatic outfits to colorful FNKAsia
collection, several top designers showed their best work. The collections were comprised of embroidery pieces, lace, organza, appliques and numerous other elements to show the latest trends of fashion world.
The
event also incorporated upcoming talents of Pakistan's fashion industry. The new designers
displayed their work in the Rising Talents category. Their designs were appreciated by the audience.
The FPW’17 also witnessed the participation of Nida Azwer, Bunto
Kazmi, Shamaeel Ansari, Umar Sayeed, Sana Safinaz, Amir Adnan, Nilofer Shahid

Following are some of the highlights of Fashion Pakistan
Week’17
All of us want to have a distinct style and stunning new look for the wedding functions. From dresses to matching bangles and from jewelry to stylish
sandals, we all spend a lot of time, energy and money just to create our own unique
individual style for Mayoun, Mehndi and Shaadi functions.
After this tiresome exercise, finalizing the makeup and
three special hairstyles for three different functions is another difficult
task. Trying new makeup trends is pretty easy as compared to new hairstyles. The reason is simple, new hairstyles require lots of styling and artificial hair products that make hairs weak, dull, dry and ultimately it becomes impossible to manage them. So, many of us feel
contented with our one typical old hairstyle for every other occasion. We are quite sure that you people also have such feelings about your hairs. However, there is a secret for managing this problem; and we will reveal it at the end of
this blog. To make it more interesting for all of you, there will be some hints
between the lines about this secret thing.
So, just relax and stop worrying about your joras (dresses),
makeup and hairstyles this wedding season, because we have some tips and solutions for
you.
Mayoun
We all know that Mayoun is a traditional function with
yellow and orange color themes. So, go for some traditional dresses with modern
fusion. Make a dress in contrasting colors of yellow, orange, red or shocking
pink. You can pair a long flared shirt carrying a
border of jamawar patti work with a choridaar pajama and a gotta patti dupatta. You can also have a
more modern look with a Jamawar or banarsi pant with a short sleeveless shirt
and long coat.
A light and soft makeup look is perfect for a mayoun
function. Do wear matching bangles and large polki earrings to complete your
look. A simple loose side braid wrapped with flowers enhances the overall mayoun dressing.
Mehndi
Mehndi is another colorful and fun filled event which
includes lots of music and dancing. A traditional Gharara, Sharara and Lehenga
is a perfect choice for a lively function. A short blouse or short shirt can be
paired with these flared styles. If you are going to have an embroidered blouse
or shirt, than keep your flared skirt plain. You can make your dress more
attractive by adding multi-colors in blouse or dupatta.
Wear a bright lipstick and glittery eye makeup with a well-defined
eye liner to compliment your dress. For mehndi function, do not tie or make a
braid, instead go for a long loose curls with a stone studded matha patti; it will give you a
very glamorous and trendy look.
Shaadi
It is a big-day; everything should look perfect and
attractive. Your dressing should reflect your own unique style. A long velvet gown
with embroidered neckline and borders looks dreamy for the shaadi function. You can
also wear long sleeve zardozi short jacket over a sleeveless flared shirt or a
maxi.
Shaadi makeup should be more glamorous than mehndi. Go for a
smokey eye makeup with bold lipstick shade and eyeliner. Add a touch of shimmer
to your makeup. An enchanting side swept long hairs with loose curls will make
you a center of attraction. Do add a pear and diamante hair clips or slides.
Have some more ideas of
creating beautiful looks from Hania Aamir, who is looking absolutely gorgeous
in this Sunsilk Thick and Long ad. She is flaunting some trendy dresses by designer Sania Maskatiya and Nomi Ansari and superb
hairstyles that you can recreate at home. Now, let us reveal the big secret! We all know that a good quality shampoo and conditioner helps in achieving manageable hairs. Sunsilk’s new Thick & Long shampoo is enriched with Keratin yoghurt complex that provides all the essential nutrients for hair growth. It is an ultimate formula for healthy thick and long hairs that will help you in picking any hairstyle of your choice for any occasion.
May the magic of this Eid bring lots of happiness in your life and may you celebrate it with all your close friends & may it fill your heart with wonders. Eid Mubarak to all our friends :) Eid is incomplete without the shopping of bangles and the beauty of henna. Do you think these bangles and henna designs are fabulous?
