Pop music megastar Madonna is going to
direct and co-write a film about her own life and career.
Madonna, 62, is working on the script of
the movie with Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody.
On September 10, Madonna confirmed on her
Instagram Livestream they were writing a film about her life, to be produced by
Amy Pascal. The music superstar said the film would focus on music, as it kept
her going, and “art has kept me alive."
According to BBC, the script of Madonna’s
film will chart her rise from the slums of New York City, to global
superstardom. The film will also feature songs e.g Like A Virgin and Vogue.
It will be Madonna's third project as director after 2008's Filth and Wisdom and 2011's WE, which was based around King Edward VIII's affair with Wallis Simpson. It was slammed by critics, and flopped at the box office, making just $2m (£1.5m) against a budget of $11m (£8.5m).
