Pakistan Breaks Guinness World Record For The Largest Cookie Mosaic

.

To mark the celebrations of Pakistan’s 70 years of independence, the leading food brand of the country, Peek Freans Sooper, a marque of English Biscuit manufacturers, came up with a unique idea of breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest cookie mosaic.

The Peek Freans Sooper’s team broke the record with a huge Pakistani flag, made up of 150,000 plus cookies in white and green colour, and measuring around 226.51 m2 (2,438.15 ft2). The cookie mosaic that was held in Islamabad, was completed in 6.5 hours on the day of independence, August 14.

Dr. Zeelaf Munir, Managing Director and CEO, EBM and the team with the Record-breaking Cookie Mosaic
The most significant aspect of this world record was that after the successful completion of flag mosaic for Guinness world record, all of the cookies used were distributed in custom built packages to different charities across Pakistan. The cookies were prepared as per the hygienic rules, and monitored by food inspectors all the time during flag mosaic preparations. The participants used hand-sanitizers, hair, shoe mitts, and gloves just to ensure each cookie remains clean and germ-free for consumption.

All the members of this remarkable event, including cricketers Shoaib Akhtar, Younus Khan, showbiz celebrities Adnan Siddiqui, Hareem Farooq and other well-known Pakistanis, took part in it with immense passion and excitement. They placed each cookie side by side to create the largest cookie mosaic. Their efforts finally paid off as soon as Guinness World Records’ team verified the challenge of breaking the world record as an achievement.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zeelaf Munir, EBM Managing Director and CEO, said, “We are a nation that is continuously rebuilding, reshaping and pushing forward – no matter what the odds. Our campaign, ‘Sooper Hai Pakistan’ seeks to highlight this national positivity by disseminating content that is the exact opposite of what the popular media continues to cover.”

Ayesha Janjua, EBM Head of Marketing said, ‘Pakistanis are brimming with raw talent; surpassing the world’s expectations on each and every pivotal moment and the participation of EBM sales and marketing team in this historic event demonstrates the true spirit of every Pakistani.”

Congratulations to Pakistan and Peek Freans Sooper who made the history by bringing home a Guinness World Records title on the day of the country's 70th Independence.

Thank you Peek Freans for turning nation's Azaadi celebrations more extraordinary and memorable. Indeed Sooper Hai Pakistan!

National Foods Empowering Women, Definitely Not A Failure!

.

Gone are the days, when women were supposed to spent their lives in the heat of kitchen just to show the love and care they have for their families. The 21st century women have introduced a new concept of spending less time in kitchen while still showing their affection and carefulness for the loved ones.

Today’s modern women select those things that are not time consuming, for example, ready to wear, ready to cook, and most importantly, the hygienic ready to use recipe mixes. Many people, particularly, the older ones, still think that this kind of mentality to choose easy-to-go things, is actually a sign of laziness and failure.

However, smart women have a very valid answer to this accusation. They establish their point of view by saying that instead of killing precious time in front of stoves, one should take sahulat (facility) of easily available balanced spices for cooking. This is the best way to save time to complete other important chores. Moreover, such sahulat gives women a lot of spare time to spend with their children, husband and other family members. They can also have a “Me time” that has been stolen from the older lot due to the absence of such spicy and tasty sahulat.

Recently, we came across the new TVC of National Foods that superbly highlighted the same fact that kitchen and ability to balance the spices to present a well-cooked dish, is not a litmus test for a woman’s love for family. She should not remain confined to one corner of house just to produce tasty food. All women should Live and love outside the confinements of the kitchen when National Recipe Mixes gives them the “Sahulat” to cook delicious food in less time. This does not make them a failure!

With a history spanning over four decades, National Foods has always tried to do something extra ordinary to empower women. With their latest TVC, the brand has intelligently not only tried to break the stereotype but also introduced a new concept of “Not A Failure”.

The tag #NotAFailure is a great initiative to tell everyone that if a woman cannot spare time for certain things for example making round chapatis, cooking aromatic curries, washing dishes or doing other household chores, it’s not a failure. Look at the lives of those women who have achieved great things in life, made proud their families, earned name in their respective fields. Those women may not be good cooks and experts of making round roti but have showed their passion and determination to attain their goals. They are definitely #NotAFailure but an inspiration for all.

Hence, women who choose to avail the convenience of National Foods recipe mixes - a perfect blend of traditional, spicy, tantalizing flavors, to make perfect meals for families and manage to take out sufficient time for loved ones, are Not A Failure.

So, ladies, it’s time to grab some of those enriched and flavorsome recipe mixes with a combination of exotic herbs, spices and seasonings, to show our talent and offer a tasteful experience of aromatic Pakistani cuisine to our families without wasting too much time in heat - after all we are #NotAFailure.

Here, coming to her aid is the transgender community, who raise her with the love and training she needs to survive", said Noman Ansari, the lead writer of the series.

The aspect at large that Basila and the Street Crew aims to highlight though, is active citizenship and civic participation. Through this series, the idea that any citizen regardless of his/her social status, ethnicity, gender, race, or religion, can volunteer to make a difference. Targeted at teens and young adults, the comic book aims to invoke a sense of responsibility within its readers, so the future of this country can collectively work towards its betterment, with the resources they have.

Karachi's Wall Art Shows Spirit Of Meri Shaan Mera Pakistan

.
Karachi Walls Showing Meri Shaan Mera Pakistan

There is an urgent need to wipe out all indecent wall chalking in Karachi. Let me tell you why it is important to remove all the filthy messages for example the political hatred, obnoxious magical cures of illiterate Baba and other inappropriate notes, because clean city walls are the reflection of a civilized society. The neat and tidy walls express public interest in owning and maintaining the city and country.

Last year, EFU Insurance, under the guidance of Commissioner Karachi, Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Khan, and his team of Commissioner Karachi Division, decided to come forward and start a corporate social responsibility campaign "Meri Shaan Mera Pakistan" to reclaim the public spaces by cleaning the dirty wall chalking and painting a positive image of Pakistan’s culture through extravagant art work.

The creative idea of EFU Life Insurance’s CSR was to highlight country’s rich cultural heritage by creating huge paintings of national events, festivals, monuments and portraits of its legends on city walls.

The campaign successfully adorned the walls at Ayesha Manzil and National Coaching Centre with huge paintings displaying the diversity of cultures within a nation. In total, a large portion approx. 5000 sq.ft was covered with colourful images during this campaign.

Check out some of the glimpses from Ayesha Manzil and National Coaching Centre wall painting:

Its new project is the wall at Aga Khan Park, Garden, opposite Ismaili Jamaat-Khana covering a space of over 7000 sq. ft. The painting work in progress has already attracted citizens who are excited to see the completed version of beautifully painted artworks.

To encourage citizens in taking part in it and showing their passion for Pakistan, EFU Life announced an art contest as well. Karachiites were asked to submit their original art works and have a chance to get their paintings featured on city walls. The winner was appreciated with a smartphone.
